Productions:
The acclaimed productions
of the group include the contemporary adaptations of Karnnabharam
(The anguish of Karnna - a Sanskrit play by Bhasa),
Chathan kattu (Indianised adaptation of The
Tempest by William Shakespeare),
Poranadi (The Outcast- a contemporary
play in Malayalam by K.N.Panicker), Nandan
Kadha (The Story of Nandan -a contemporary interpretation of a
myth in Tamil by Indira Parthasarathy), Medea
(the Indian adaptation of the Greek classic by Euripides,
Macbeth by William Shakespeare (all
directed by Chandradasan) and Andha
Yugam based on the lyrical play in Hindi by Dharmaveer
Bharathi directed by Sudheer Babu. Mazhavillu, the children's theatre
wing of Lokadharmi performs the children's version of Charandas
Chor (charandas, the thief) written by Habib Tanvir. Also Lokadharmi
has collabarated with Hole ranga, an eco theatre group of Honnali-
Karnataka and produced "madhuve hennu"(the
bride) in kannada by H. S. Shivaprakash. The collabaration with Sanskrit
college, Tripunithura resulted the production of 'Mathavilasa
Prahasanam" ( the pranks of a drunkard- a comedy) in Sanskrit
language written by Mahendra Vikraman.
Now Ubu Roi by Alfred Jarry
for Lokadharmi and "panjara sala" written by BV Karanth
for Mazhavillu are in rehearsal.
