Thathamaram
THATHAMARAM - Parrot-Tree (written, designed and directed by Chandradasan, 2014). The play weaves together contemporary life with age-old myths, folklore and traditions. It brings man and nature together and rekindles the long-lost connection between the two. The story creates a world which flows between real, surreal and mythical; all fused together to form a plasma of magical, dream like fantasy. The story is narrated direct and simple in a transparent, poetic and candid style to create a cosmos of exuberance, earthiness, and fantasy, where various elements co-exist, mutually complementing and completing; to create a world of magic and spells evil spirits. Colourful sets and properties, melodious music and innocence of the little actors and their creativity adds to the charm of the play.
